An American wedding in Positano
The Church of Santa Maria Assunta, in Positano, has an old history. The abbey was founded during the second half of the 10th century and hosts a Virgin Mary icon from the Byzantine period. The icon, according to the legend, arrived in Positano in a prodigious manner: the Virgin Mary herself would have indicated the dock to the sailors during a violent storm.
It’s a place loaded with charm and suggestion then, that Julie and Michael chose for their wedding celebration. After swearing their eternal love for each other, the two American spouses decided to share the joy of their marriage with a walk through the historic centre, one of the most beautiful of the whole Amalfi Coast.
It’s impossible to resist the charm of the sea. The spouses, then, allowed themselves a romantic boat ride. The reception took place immediately after at Rada Restaurant, which also offers a breath-taking view over the Mediterranean. Celebrations continued through the night at the club Music on the Rocks, marking the peak of an exceptionally moving day.
