A lovely editorial shooting at La Rondinaia, Ravello
Villa La Rondinaia is one of the most beautiful and prestigious venues on the Amalfi coast. The Villa is located in Ravello, in the middle of a park of untold beauty, and lies nestled in a cliff – hence its name “La Rondinaia” (rondine = swallow) as it resembles a swallow’s nest. It was built in 1927 by Lucylle, daughter of Ernest William Beckett, an English baron who also commissioned Villa Cimbrone, erected on the other side of the same park. The villa owes its popularity to Gore Vidal, the American writer who moved there in 1972, and made it his retreat for thirty-three years.
Such enchanting scenery is the setting of an elegant and refined styled shoot. Its ambiance is sophisticated, and owns the charm of a dream-like atmosphere. The air is still and the light gently touches the objects. The feeling is that of a timeless space, suspended on a cliff-edge above a cobalt blue sea. Its beauty is eternal, made of those kind of precious moments that will forever be etched in people’s memories.
It was a truly extraordinary experience for us to take part in this wedding editorial. It’s not every day you get to move through rooms and gardens so rich in history, and, furthermore, together with some of the best wedding industry professionals. It is the eternal wizardry of creation, magical as life itself. «For we are, at least in the act of this creation, as one, each trapped in time: you later, I now, carefully, thoughtfully forming letters to make words to make sentences»
